GP Rating Course Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill the following academic requirements:

  • Passed 10th Standard from a recognized board
  • Minimum 40% aggregate marks in Class 10th
  • Minimum 40% marks in English (either in 10th or 12th)
  • Candidates from 12th, ITI, Diploma, or any stream are also eligible
  • Education must be from recognized boards such as State Board, CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, etc.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 17.5 Years
  • Maximum Age: 28 Years

Medical Eligibility

To work onboard ships, candidates must meet DG Shipping medical standards:

Eyesight:

  • 6/6 vision in both eyes
  • No spectacles or contact lenses allowed

Color Vision:

  • No color blindness
  • Tested through Ishihara Color Vision Test

General Fitness:

  • Physically and mentally fit for sea service
  • Medical examination must be completed through a DG Shipping–approved doctor

Nationality

Only Indian Citizens are eligible to pursue the GP Rating Course in India.
